The Vitality Fitness assessment is divided into two components: Fitness and Functional Movement. Basic biometric measurements, including height, weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, and BMI, are still part of the assessment.
For the Fitness component, there are two alternative options:
- A treadmill sub-maximal walking test
- A Wattbike sub-maximal incremental cycle fitness test
Please Note: Members will not be required to run on the treadmill. It is a sub-maximal test, so only fast-paced walking is required.
The Functional Movement component includes the following 7 movements:
- Lunges
- Squats
- Push-ups
- Straight leg raise (hamstring test)
- Lower back rotation test
- Trendelenburg (hip & knee stability test)
- Shoulder mobility test
What is the purpose of the Discovery Vitality Functional tests?
You will receive a score of 0-2 for each component, with a total score out of 14. If you score less than 10 out of 14, your Vitality points will be penalized.
What you need for the assessment:
- Avoid exercising prior to the fitness assessment
- Wear comfortable clothing
- Bring a sweat towel and water bottle
- Be sure to stretch before the assessment
Vitality members can earn up to 10,000 Vitality points for the assessment, depending on their fitness level.
